The current energy climate is seeing the need for household savings. Ofgem, the energy regulator in UK, have announced this week that ‘energy bills will rise by 2020’. Ofgem have suggested a few solutions to this ever increasing issue; Most notably getting energy suppliers to make a change in their ways and show how they make a difference. Coinciding with this piece of not so good news, the government has announced Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) which will pay people for the heat they generate themselves. This looks at home owners using other forms of energy , of the more renewable variety to power homes around the country. The UK is aiming to become the first country to reach 12% mark in terms of renewable energy powering homes. Carbon emissions caused by the needing to heat homes currently stands at 47%. Engaging in this scheme maybe worth a look at as it is guaranteeing a £1000 plus per household, and a chance to get some money back of the government.
