Apple raising the ‘green’ stakes in technology?

The new apple i-pad claims to be a ‘revolutionary device’ in a technological sense, but have apple hit upon a revolutionary piece of ‘green’ technology?
This past week has seen the release of Apples latest product, the i pad. It is another typically classy piece, both in looks and features to come from apple. They seem to have a good knack for this now. What I am more interested in is the green or potentially green consequences surrounding it.
Firstly the i pad is a technological advancement in the condensing of all day to day and business activities into one small portable device. This is automatically allowing more saving on paper usage, due to the portability of the device. Also with the integrated e-reader it allows books and newspapers to be read and so cutting back on more paper usage.
It is even better than a laptop especially as it is running on battery power in comparison to a laptop where battery power is still an issue and bulk chargers need to be carried around. This coincides with apples new battery advancements, which they claim to have nearly 3 times the life span of a normal battery, so will get thrown away less. On top of this Apple also offers a take back scheme on batteries so they are disposed of correctly.
Finally in recent months Apple have re designed packaging and build materials to make it far more eco friendly, by eliminating toxic substances. So as an all-round environmental package the i-pad looks the business. View Apples environmental advancements here:

So are apple wanting to go green and become a leader in this field or is it just a shrewd business move?

  4. I simply can’t believe how many individuals place spam on sites, especially private blogs just for the interest of some link juice. I need to stay alert all day even with fancy plugins like Akismet. I don’t want to imagine what would happen to my sites if I didn’t had this kind of security. Get a solid job spammers!
